Swollen or painful Glands/Lymph nodes are a very common component of the illness, after all Glandular Fever/Mononucleosis is a disease of the Lymphatic system. There are many people who've reported a Lymph node swelling on both sides of the neck or even just one side of the neck.
It's also not uncommon for these glands to stay swollen for awhile after the symptoms have disappeared. Another interesting aspect is the swelling/pain can come and go. Many people have also reported that when they feel tired or stressed there Glands will "act up" again. The aforementioned symptoms is surely where "Glandular" fever got it's name!
