Another extremely common symptom of Glandular Fever/Mono is an enlarged spleen. Sometimes it can be painful. It's worth noting that the most risky part of the illness is splenic rupture. Most Doctors advice patients to avoid all contact sports exercise for this reason. Once the spleen returns to normal size these activities can be resumed.
It's worth noting that many people report pain in the sleen area for quite awhile after getting sick. It's always wise to consult with your Doctor if you feel you still have swelling. This is one of the few danger Glandular Fever presents to sufferers and should be taken seriously.
